Important: Pre-term infants sizing can be greatly varied. The duration of gestation, health of the pregnancy and time spent in a SCN or NICU ward can affect the babies growth and weight. The size guide is a helpful gauge and measuring a newborn is not always possible so it is advised to use the weight as to choose size. All hospitals have their own regulations regarding infant clothing so please check first before making a garment. Some prefer snaps, others prefer hook and loop. Both options are provided in this pattern. Nursing staff will often be able to assist in advising if shoulder opening or side opening garments are preferred to accommodate any tubes/cords attached to the infant while in care.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Most items can be made from just 1x FQ (FQ= Fat quarter approx 47x52cm)

SUPPLIES
- Snaps or super-soft hook and loop for fastening. (buttons not recommended due to choking hazard)
- Bias binding or jersey binding for the knit layette version
Options
WOVEN: Vest (Front + side or shoulder opening), Gown & Dress (Front + shoulder opening)
Front opening can be central or off-centre.
EXTRAS: Add a faux collar or cap sleeves
KNIT: Kimono top (3/4 sleeve), Pants + Beanie
